LAKEVIEW SCHOOL BOARD SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR THE “LAKEVIEW DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI” AWARD
The Lakeview School District Board of Education is currently seeking applicants for the 2012 Distinguished Alumnus Award. The award, established in 1983, recognizes Lakeview High School graduates who have graduated at least 20 years earlier (1992 or before) and have distinguished him or herself through community service and personal and professional accomplishments.

The award, established in 1983, recognizes Lakeview High School graduates who have graduated at least 20 years earlier (1992 or before) and have distinguished him or herself through community service and personal and professional accomplishments.
Over the years, Lakeview has enjoyed recognition for providing an excellent education and values to its students. Many Lakeview High School graduates have excelled in their professional careers while being active members of their community. Recent Distinguished Alumni Award recipients include:
Performer Doug LaBrecque, Class of 1982
Doug LaBrecque has starred on the Toronto stage as “The Phantom” in Phantom of the Opera and performed with the highly acclaimed Marvin Hamlisch at Carnegie Hall. He has also donated his talents locally to raise money for The Music Center of South Central Michigan and The Battle Creek Community Chorus.
Business Executive Mike Bivens, Class of 1975
During his 30+ years with the Kellogg Company, Mike’s action-minded enthusiasm for team synergy led to both a career and lifetime pursuit of creating high performance teams and developing leaders who deliver on character and results. Mike channels this passion to the benefit of those he encounters through his professional work and volunteer work in the community.
Entrepreneur Mike Pape, Class of 1980
Dr. Pape is an entrepreneur who has co-founded several life science research companies and has been an advisor and investor in numerous medical startup companies. His work has been instrumental in the success of numerous cardiovascular drug development programs including Lipitor. Mike has traveled the world as an active Christian missionary and serves as chairman of the Elder Board at New Life Church in Ann Arbor.
