New Ice Manager Makes Changes at The Rink

sports

Bill Leroy may be new to The Revolution Rink staff, as the Ice Events Manager, but he’s no stranger to amateur hockey enthusiasts in the Battle Creek-Kalamazoo area. He is well known for his postings at both Wings Stadium and Twin Stars Arena in Kalamazoo and he’s been known to lace them up and jump in the game as time allows and the need arises. You might say he’s a player’s manager and that’s exactly why the General Manager Richard Keys has brought him to Battle Creek; to turn things around at the Rink.

To that end The Rink has lowered its drop-in hockey price from a much reviled $10 to the more palatable $7 of last year. In addition, there will be new and expanded drop in periods beginning after January 1.  There will be drop-in between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays and from 8:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

These changes have already resulted in greater attendance at the daytime sessions and even 21 players showing up prematurely for a Thursday night skate not yet scheduled. Being a player’s manager, Bill let them skate.
